An introduction to Coaching for Leadership
Tuesday 9 June
Online
10am–4pm BST (UTC+1)
Perfect for: new managers or experienced leaders looking for a toolkit refresh.
Most managers get promoted because they were good at something. The people side of the job is a different skill entirely, and most organisations assume you will figure it out as you go.
This one-day programme is for managers and leaders who want to stop figuring it out on instinct and start working from a framework that actually holds up under pressure. It is practical, it is grounded in real leadership situations and you will use what you learn straight away.
During the day you will cover:
How to use a coaching approach in the conversations you are already having with your team, not as an add-on to your leadership but as the way you lead.
Active listening as a practical skill and lots of time to practice it.
Useful questions: what makes a question useful, how to ask one and how to sit with the answer rather than jumping to a solution.
The GROW model as a structure for one-to-ones, difficult conversations and development discussions, with time to practise it.
You will also leave with a comprehensive resource pack to keep and return to.
Who is it for?
This day works well for managers who are relatively new to leading a team, and for more experienced leaders who want to work more consistently from a coaching approach. If you are the kind of person who cares about the people you manage and wants to get better at showing it effectively, you will find it useful.

Here is what participants on our programmes have said:
I can confidently say this is the best training I have undertaken. The resources, training style and materials were all sector leading quality. Every second of every time we were together was considered without feeling overwhelming. The resources were clear, accessible and will be an ongoing source of learning for a long time to come. The course is an exceptional overview of coaching.
—Chris Keady
The delivery was exceptional, demonstrating a wide range of delivery techniques and exercises to ensure course engagement, participation, and learning. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and as an indication of its relevance the workbook is readily seen in the workplace as part of a Marlowe Manager’s toolkit.
—Mark Wild
An amazing opportunity to learn and develop key leadership and coaching skills that are invaluable for the modern workplace, within a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
—Thomas Valentine
Insightful, empowering, thoughtful... It was an incredibly useful course, the skills I have learnt from it have been useful in different facets of my life.
